Our Story

We own vacation rentals on the Outer Banks, and for years we struggled with the same question every OBX owner faces: how do I know if my rates are right?

The tools that exist aren't built for us. AirDNA and similar platforms track Airbnb and VRBO — but most OBX rentals are listed exclusively through local property management companies like Twiddy, Hatteras Realty, or Surf or Sound, and that inventory is invisible to them. PMC market reports are opaque. Comparing your calendar to a competitor meant opening dozens of browser tabs and doing rough math in a spreadsheet. We had no reliable way to see where we sat in the market, which weeks were underpriced, or whether our property management company was doing us any favors.

So we built one. What started as a script to track a handful of competitors grew into a nightly intelligence system that monitors rates, availability, and visibility across every major property management company on the Outer Banks — refreshed every morning before sunrise.

The search engine and deal alerts are the public face of that system. The owner tools are what we actually run our rentals on.
